Friday Blues...Cured!!!

Good Morning!!! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I sure did! If you read my previous post on Friday, you know I was a little bored and didn't have much to do or much planned for that matter. Well, I'm living proof that positive thinking and feeling good about yourself goes a long way! I totally felt like getting dressed and fixing up my hair even though I had nowhere to go. Well, things took a dramatic turn when my hubby showed up early from work. Of course he asked where I was going, which I responded, nowhere just waiting for you! HAHA Well, living in the Florida Keys, it only takes us minutes to jump on the boat and head out into the ocean! We met up with our neighbors at a nearby sand bar, and had an AMAZING time! I know you may think, what does that have to do with dressing up?! Well, if I would've stayed moping around the house and not taken the initiative to make myself feel better, maybe my day would not have gone as well! And not only did my weekend start great thanks to my positive thinking but it ended on Sunday just the same way, except this time with some of our great family and friends!
Again, positive thinking goes a long way!!!
Here are some pictures of our fun filled afternoon! Needless to say, the kids had a blast and were exhausted at the end of the day!
Happy Monday!
Love,
Isa
P.S. Don't forget...Positive Thinking! Keep it in mind throughout the rest of the week!
XOXO
 Super excited to head out!

Having a blast pushing their brother off!

 Love those smiling faces!!!

"I'm the king of the world!!!" LOL

 Officially exhausted!

Back Home from an amazing day!

Friday Blues

It's Friday and I have nowhere to go. Not that I want to go anywhere with 3 boys in this excruciating heat and at the same time they look so comfy watching Bubble Guppies and playing with their toys that why would I disturb them. I've been cleaning and picking up all morning in sweats and a big T-shirt (not to mention my hair looks like my inspiration for the day was Albert Einstein). So needless to say, I'm NOT a sight for sore eyes at this very moment.
After I finished my janitorial duties, I wanted to (obviously) take a shower and freshen up. While I was deciding whether to wash and blow dry my hair, I remembered a story my best friend told me this week. We talk basically everyday and tell each other the crazy annoying things our kids do to us (she has 3 as well). It's good to have someone you can vent your daily frustrations with and that can relate to you. So anyways, she took her kids to visit her brother and his family for the day, who rented for the summer in the lower Florida Keys (about an hour or so away from me). As she said, the kids had a blast and at the end of the day, she bathed everyone and then wanted to freshen up herself for their two and a half hour drive. When she stepped out of the washroom, her brother looked at her funny and asked "Uh...where are you going?!" Her reply, "Must I look like crap just because I'm driving home??" I will tell you, she was wearing white shorts, a simple sleeveless chiffon top with a bandeau underneath and sandals. Simple, cute and comfy. Now, why did he ask that?? Would he have asked that if she was wearing sweats and a big T-shirt? Because its obvious that's the expected attire for a mother of 3...uh, I think NOT!!! And why?! Why can't she wear what makes her feel and look good? I think we as mothers sometimes have this notion that if we look good, people will think we are not taking good care of our kids. Well, I got news for you! Times have changed! I feel I am more productive and a better, happier mom, when I feel good about myself. So to all the moms out there...it's okay to take a couple of extra minutes for yourself. This won't make you any less of an amazing mother. On the contrary, it will only add to your long list of amazing superhero attributes!
So thinking about all this made me decide that yes, I was going to blow dry my hair and doll myself up even if I wasn't stepping foot outside of my house. And that's exactly what I did. Although I think I went a little overboard with some red lipstick I was playing around with! My husband looked at me funny when he walked in. LOL But seriously, minus the red lipstick...I decided to go with these striped cut-off shorts and my whale tee (that my 9 year old told me I had to buy when he saw it). I had originally put on sandals but I wanted to be a little fun today and wear wedges at least for a little while! HAHA They made me feel even better on this beautiful but yet uneventful Friday in the Florida Keys!!!

Have a great weekend my beauties!
Love,
Isa

Mama! Mia Maxi!

I don't know about some of you, but I know I used to be afraid of maxi dresses. Why you ask?? Well, sometimes if its too hot...it's hot everywhere!!! I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about and really, truthfully...you can relate. Don't deny it! Embrace it like the strong, stylish woman you are! LOL
As you can tell by my latest outfit selection, I faced my fears! Thanks to this beautiful breezy (slight) Hi Lo Maxi dress. It has a great neutral color making it easy to accessorize. By choosing a neutral color, you are expanding your horizons for different looks and color combos all built around that one dress. For this look, I chose a denim vest (one of my favorite pieces) to add some layers and these great and super comfy, chunky cork heels. The array of colors in the floral print makes the shoe really pop and just like the dress, easy to accessorize. Being a mom of 3, I'm all for easy and breezy! I chose to go with layered gold necklaces and some bold white bracelets to finish off the look. (I usually don't wear many rings because I end up taking them off thanks to mommie duties or they're taken off for me by my kids! Bracelets tend to come off as well but do last longer than the rings! LOL)

Keep it breezy!
Have a beautiful and fabulous day!
Isa

Summer Sales!!!

Good Morning Fashion Lovers!!! It's that time of year again...Summer Sales are everywhere! Beat those Monday blues and go hunting for the perfect summer pieces at discounted prices! I had a sporadic trip, not to the nearest shopping mall but to one of my favorite malls this past Saturday and boy was I happy with my last minute decision. My purpose was to purchase bookbags for my kids but ofcourse I strayed. After I purchased my 9 year olds bookbag and lunchbox (both 30% off) and uniform shorts (originally 29.95, reduced to 24.99, final price was 14.99) at GapKids, I went on to babyGap where I found more uniform cargo shorts for my 3 yr old (originally 24.95, reduced to 14.99, final was 8.99!!!!). Needless to say, I was beyond excited! Let me tell you, inexpensive uniform clothes can be found anywhere but Gap...is Gap! Their clothes last ages and especially when its school clothes for active boys (and girls ofcourse), we definitely need long lasting items! So if you haven't already gone...GO!!!
Now on to THE Gap. This is where I got even more gitty that I wanted to dance around the mall with everyone I saw! Yes, sales make me overly excited! I left there with 2 pairs of flats and a sweater. I know, I didn't go too crazy, just got the essentials. Not that I needed 2 more pairs of shoes but yes to me they are essentials! haha
One of my stops included Zara, which was craziness due to the amount of inventory on sale. Unfortunately, a double stroller and 2 cranky toddlers fighting and screaming prevented me from indulging at that particular store. But if you can get to one, maybe during the week when its calmer, you should definitely go. They have lots of stuff online as well.
So in this post, I decided to do this neon lightweight sweater (summer friendly) I got for 14.99 and these gorgeous giraffe print flats which were the huge price of $4.78!!! I kid you not, that was the final price. Beyond. Ecstatic.
I added some cobalt blue skinnies I got a while back from Abercrombie for some colorblocking fun. Don't be afraid to mix colors! Make a statement!
I finally added some amazing jewelry from Beauty Mark Miami. They have gorgeous and affordable pieces.
Hope you enjoyed my summer sale edition. The other flats I mentioned will be featured sometime this week as well. Make sure to look out for it! Till next time!

Have a beautiful and fabulous day!!!

Wrapping it up!

I really wanted to do a post on this dress because quite simply...I love it and wanted to steer away from the comfy mom looks for a bit. I'm all for comfy and trendy mom looks but we have got to look sexy and sophisticated at times as well! So I chose this wrap dress, because seriously, who doesn't love a great wrap dress?! It's a classic piece that never goes out of style and looks great on any body type. Not to mention they make your waist look tiny whether you're a size 4 or 14. They are great for work, day and night parties, lunches, dinners...and the list goes on! Just switch up the shoes and accessories to accommodate to each event.
This particular wrap dress is from BCBGMaxazria. I purchased it last year during their summer sale. I totally fell in love and my love for it continues to blossom like a beautiful white silky rose in springtime! HAHA! Yes, I love the dress but the best part...I have never worn it!!! Only for our family portraits we took a couple of months ago. I wore light pink peep toe pumps from Bebe and a light pink bubble necklace from Palest Pink
I'm sure you're wondering why I have never worn it, given I'm soooo in love with it! Well, the answer to that is simple...I've put it on so many times but I never feel like the event is as perfect as the dress. LOL I know it sounds funny, but it's totally the truth. I don't go out very often, so when I do, I want the outfit to be perfect, so many times I overlook some amazing pieces I have sitting in my closet. A little trick for that is to separate some of those versatile, great pieces you have into one section of your closet where you know you will always glance at. This way they'll always be visible to you and won't be lonely and forgotten in the great abyss of your closet.
For my latest styling of this dress, I used these AMAZING cream colored asymmetrical pumps which really brings out all the colors of the dress. It may look pink to the naked eye, but this dress houses lots of fun and bright colors. To make these colors really pop, I added this great peach necklace that keeps the v-neck flowing and a yellow clutch to really bring out those two colors in this dress. (I bet you hadn't noticed the yellow and peach huh?!) It's okay, I hadn't at first either!

Till Next Time!
Have a beautiful and fabulous day!
Isa
p.s. I promise I'm working on taking better pictures. For now, thanks to my hubby for taking these and my little sis for the previous ones!
